June is National Dairy Month!

Not only is June the official kickoff to everyone’s favorite season, it is also National Dairy Month. As the Dairy Farmers of Washington, it is our proud duty to share with you the very best of what our dairies have to offer, including recipes for healthy summer snacks (and sweet treats), local dairy-fests and fairs and a chance to win $10,000 just because it’s National Dairy Month.

Whatever it may be, cheese is often associated with foods that aren’t good for you. Condensed vs. Evaporated Milk

With such similar names, condensed milk and evaporated milk are often confused. With the baking season in full-swing we thought it perfect timing to demystify the two and clarify that, no, they cannot be used interchangeably.

Both are two types of concentrated milk from which about 60 percent of water has been removed, yielding a thick liquid most commonly used in baked goods.
