For over 50 years World Dairy Expo has been the esteemed dairy event of the year. Held from October 3-7, in Madison, Wisconsin over 70,000 dairy farmers, organization leaders, and dairy enthusiasts gathered to learn about the newest innovations in the industry and watch top dairy cattle from across the continent compete in the distinguished breed shows.
Teachers and health professionals across our state rely on Washington Dairy Council materials to teach the importance of good nutrition and eating dairy foods every day. Since the beginning of the year, over 4,600 educators have turned to eatsmart.org to find information, lesson plans, and teaching tools. From the local Jamestown S’Klallam Tribe’s fishing practices to local farmers’ needs for dependable irrigation to grow crops, the whole community works together to conserve one of their most precious resources—water.

If you are anything like my family, we run out of the door with breakfast in one hand, and a questionably nutritious lunch made up of leftovers in the other.
